I took a big risk and pushed myself harder than ever before. When I became a full-time REALTOR®, I put my family first and discovered an invaluable lesson.
After working in corporate America with the daily grind of 8am5pm (usually longer), a good friend said to me, “Life happens on the sidelines.” That stuck with me. With two young girls at home while traveling every other week for work, I felt like I was missing out on those crucial sideline moments. I enjoyed what I had accomplished in my career up to that point, especially working with so many tech startups in their heyday and as Vice President of Global Marketing in my previous position. However, I realized the stability of a paycheck and benefits didn’t come close to how much I value time spent with my family.
Years before my girls were born, I lost my dad in a car accident. Fortunately, my mom survived. I feel beyond blessed for all the years I had with my dad before he passed and especially that my mom is still here. However, navigating that first year without him was tough.
I have always been a positive person, and though losing my father was devastating, I did not lose sight of the silver lining. My siblings, mom and I all grew closer through that experience. And, I was able to truly understand and appreciate that nothing in life is guaranteed. Every moment I have with my family is precious, and I know from personal experience that it can all change in an instant. As my girls got older, it was time to put them first, and I made the decision to leave the corporate world. What would I do next?
Real estate has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager, and I always knew it would be my path at some point in life. It was scary to give up the stability I had known for so long to pursue something without the same structure or financial guarantees as what I had known. But I knew I was always destined to be my own boss, set my own schedule, and chart my own path. The tables turned, and after decades of chasing quarterly goals and promotions, I was ready to build something great completely on my own. My husband, Sage, and my mom were extremely supportive during that time, always reminding me that taking the leap was the right thing to do.
Excellence through education and commitment is key for me. So, like everything else in my life, I dove into real estate aiming to learn all I could and to achieve the highest level of excellence possible. At the same time, I also realized it’s OK to trust the journey. We all want more control in life, but the reality is – control is an illusion. All we can do is take control of ourselves, and that only comes from within. Part of that for me has been to continuously educate myself so I can face each new challenge from the best possible position. By trusting in the journey, I’m able to embrace the challenges that arise each and every day.
After several years paying my dues at some of California’s pre-eminent real estate brokerages, my journey has led me to open my own real estate company, Primary Pacific Properties, in April 2022. I have the highest expectations and am excited to see (and show you) what my team and I will accomplish together. While I am proud of my company, I am most proud of my family and passing that pride on to my girls. My husband and I have been married for over 20 years, and by keeping open lines of communication and adapting to life’s challenges, we have shown our daughters that they can accomplish anything – and they definitely know it.
I have been a licensed REALTOR® since early 2016. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends. My favorite part of being a REALTOR® is seeing the joy on my clients’ faces once we achieve their goals, whether it’s buying their first home, purchasing their next home, or downsizing after spending years in their family home.
Whether you are buying or selling, you should expect and demand true support throughout the process. Long before becoming a licensed REALTOR®, I spent my days negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts, communicating with global teams and working diligently to develop relationships and solve problems within the corporate world. As a REALTOR®, I give my work and my clients the same level of attention and professionalism, ensuring that my clients are protected at every turn.
I will never assume what you know, and I make it a point to communicate clearly and effectively on what to expect so you are never left wondering. Buying and selling a home can be stressful, and I believe my job is to take as much off your plate as possible so you can focus on what is most important to you. I have an extensive professional background in marketing and negotiating. I go above and beyond providing data on current market conditions, market analysis, and negotiation tactics to achieve the best outcome – the highest price for my sellers and maximum benefits for my buyers. From the very start, I will always be honest with you, telling you what you need to hear vs. want to hear, even if that means adjusting our game plan. Once the transaction is over, I will continue to support your success as your lifelong REALTOR® and friend.
Sincerely,
Peggy Knauft
